Inflatable Rescue Boats or IRBs are a relatively recent addition to the SurfLifesavers inventory of rescue tools. As well as a capable rescue and patrol platform, the IRB is amazing in rescue competition. Saunton Sands were delighted to win Gold for the Ladies team at the World Championships in Egypt during October 2010, as well as a host of other silver & bronze medals for every member of the team clanging their way home too! Well done to all involved!.

Here at Saunton Sands SurfLifesaving Club (SSSLSC) we have an active group of IRB enthusiasts qualified at all stages up to Examiner. SSSLSC works to be inclusive, spreading the skills and benefits of Surf Lifesaving as much as possible. The IRB section upholds the same aims.
